THE CANADIAN UDRP DECISIONS

On 30 December 2020 the Canadian Internet International Dispute Resolution Centre became an approved ICANN dispute resolution provider for resolving domain name disputes under the UDRP.

Since then, it has been busy with a steady flow of cases and its arbitrators have provided good service and produced a series of significant decisions. They have been produced with the energetic help of Ina Ergasheva and her wonderful staff.

We thought it was time to have a look at what the CIIDRC has achieved since its accreditation.

So, The Hon Neil Brown QC put together a Masterclass on Zoom which covered a lot of the Canadian decisions and he delivered it on 9 December 2021. The Masterclass was well attended and it produced some lively debate. Here, for you to look at in your own time, are the slides that Mr. Brown produced for his presentation.

Naturally, it was not practicable to deal in the Masterclass with every case decided in the CIIDRC. We covered those that we think are the more important cases and the ones that you might be able to use in your own work. So, with the slides, comes our summary of all the Canadian decisions to date. We will try to keep it up to date.

Enjoy the slides and the summary of the cases, below. We are sure you will find them useful and interesting.

Best wishes from Domain Times.
